Saint Mark's is a community who prays, studies, works, and has fun together.  We find joy in spending time with each other, whether we have known you for years, or have only just met.

Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study

9:30 in the Canon Plumbley Room (the main floor overlooking the Oatka Creek)

The adult class will be watching the video series called MLK Jr.: Epistles & Prophets produced by Trinity Episcopal Church Wall St.  2018 marks the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s death and the study looks at the continuing impact of his ministry.  Each 25-minute video is followed by guided discussion, often examining how we respond to civil rights issues as individuals or as a church community.

This speaker series, “Three Epistles on Race in America,” explores contemporary black/white relationships using writings that, while perhaps lesser known than King’s famous “I have a dream” oratory, resonate powerfully today. The speakers are New York City journalist Errol Louis, New York University professor and poet Fred Moten, and Trinity’s Vicar, Phil Jackson. Hear their challenging examinations of three civil-rights era letters from Dr. King, James Baldwin, and Thomas Merton.  All welcome.

Sundays at 9:30 am in the Canon Plumley Room, starting April 15.
